Responsibilities*

The Trauma Burn Program is a Level 1 Trauma Center and verified Burn Center, certified by the American College of Surgeons. It has a 10 bed ICU and 6 bed acute care unit.
Adult and pediatric patients are admitted to the burn center. Adult trauma patients are admitted who have sustained multiple trauma and non-trauma emergency illnesses.
Nurses provide safe and effective nursing care to an assigned patient population.
Have the ability to function as part of a health team and also work closely with patient families. 

Michigan Medicine's Trauma Burn ICU has received the Silver Beacon Award from AACN!

Nursing Specific Info

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required Qualifications*

Current Michigan RN license.

At least One (1) year recent experience in an ICU or Emergency Department.

Desired Qualifications*

Work Schedule

Hours: 36 hours per week
Shifts: Nights, 12 hr shifts, every other weekend

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.  Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
