Administrative Assistant IISummary of Position
Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Residential Life, this position is responsible for assisting in the management of Residential Life front office and serving as one of the primary points of contact with student staff members, professional staff members, parents, students and campus partners regarding services provided by the Department of Residential Life. This role is responsible for maintaining a warm, welcoming and professional environment that is inclusive for our staff, students and other visitors from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
This position provides administrative support to 26 professional staff members and over 160 student staff members through various tasks and special projects such as copying, purchasing supplies, coordinating events and various other assignments as needed. This position will be 20 Hours/week and will work primarily on a Tuesday to Friday schedule.

DurhamRequired Qualifications
- High School or Equivelent
- One to three years experience in administrative support or a combination of experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, campus partners and the general public.
- Comprehensive computer skills including the Microsoft Suite of software programs.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in a college/university environment.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
