Our Summer 2023 Internship is June 10-August 16, 2024.

As interns at Blue Shield of California, interns:

• Participate in impactful projects during their 10-week program
• 10-week curriculum designed to familiarize interns with BSC, leadership development, exposure to the health care industry, and more
• Are invited to participate in BSC employee events such as Employee Resource Groups, Employee volunteer activities, and more.

Your Role

The Product organization oversees the filing of plans across each line of business. The organization partners with marketing teams and sales teams to monitor the success of our plans and create new ones as market success is identified.

The Product Marketing Intern will report to the product marketing manager. In this role, you will be providing project specific analytical and implementation support and contribute to strategy development for our product marketing team.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

• Own and drive specific product marketing initiatives including contributing to strategy development and leading tactical implementation.
• Establish an understanding of the key strategic partners in health systems organizations, along with their critical success factors to drive specific business objectives.
• Understand product marketing principles and demonstrate ability to apply them strategically and tactically in the heavily regulated health insurance market.
• Develop and analyze key data for understanding the business landscape.
• Provide marketing and project management support to the Product Marketing team on key bodies of project work. Responsibilities include serving as the point of contact on projects, managing project plans and dashboards, budget tracking and reporting, content development and tactical support, assistance with documenting operating model processes, and serving as a liaison to gather information for the team.
• Potential Opportunities include:
  • Sales Training: Applying a product, marketing, and sales lens to create and deliver the 2025 sales training for each Commercial sales team.
  • Operating Model: Analyze and visualize the Commercial product portfolio in Small Group.

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in business, marketing, finance, health care or related field
• Must reside in the state of California for the duration of the internship

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare ecosystem; health plan and payer economics

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 25.00 to $ 30.00 for California.
