Job Description

This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Hillcrest and remote.

DESCRIPTION

UC San Diego Health Sciences encompasses UC San Diego Health, the region's only academic health system, UC San Diego School of Medicine, one of the nation's top research-intensive medical schools, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Southern California's first public school of pharmacy, and Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. UC San Diego Health Sciences' mission is to deliver outstanding patient care through commitment to the community, groundbreaking research and inspired teaching.

The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1100 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD's School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates.

In support of Graduate Medical Education, uses skills and experience as a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of employee benefits, leaves of absences and accommodation practices and University policies and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and developing recommendations relative to employee benefits programs where analysis of situations and data requires a review of a variety of factors. General instructions may be provided on new assignments, projects and initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong in-depth knowledge of organization policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the organization's employee benefits function and programs and can address unique circumstances as well as routine situations.

  • Demonstrated strong writing, speaking, and group presentation skills in order to present information in a clear and concise manner to multiple levels in the organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of all benefits programs in order to provide information and interpretation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a Health Sciences, Health Care environment.

  • Knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, Workers Comp, ADA, HIPAA and applicable state and federal laws.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
