Job Profile Summary
Under the direction of and in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, ensure the optimal functioning of the accounting and supply chain departments related to policy development and implementation. Provide effective leadership and sound fiscal management and practices with focus on corporate and site financials to include the corporate capital budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop staff through building positive relationships.
  • Inspire others to perform at a high level, prepare career development plans and retain an accountable workforce.
  • Coach, counsel, and administer appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
  • In collaboration with the CFO and Controller, oversee the accurate and timely monthly financial statements and department income and loss statements.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the annual independent audit with the CFO.
  • Participate in the RFP for external auditor selection.
  • Through subordinate staff, responsible for the internal and external audit programs and processes.
  • Research and prepare technical GAAP accounting communications.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures for financial management, budget, and accounting with focus on LEAN continuous process improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to support the financial infrastructure.
  • Direct accounting activities for PACE, New Market Tax Credit compliance, treasury/cash management, debt instruments, and all areas of the accounting functions.
  • Present financial reporting and potential risk areas to leadership. Ensure accuracy of reports, perform review and analysis as necessary in identifying any potential errors, misstatements, or unrecorded transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of reports submitted, filing, and financial requests.
  • Implement strategies for process improvements to prevent errors in the future.
  • Develop and present financial reporting to include financial risks to leadership. Ensure accuracy of reports to include conformance with financial policies.
  • Proactively develop, monitor, and control key initiatives, appropriate budgets, forecasts, measures of success, etc. to achieve required goals.
  • Direct procurement team on sourcing strategies and key vendor agreements for equipment and supplies acquired.
  • Plan purchasing and materials strategies to optimize planning and inventory through measuring forecast, analysis, and reporting related to monthly inventory and supply data that aligns with senior management expectations.
  • Manage logistics team to ensure all products are handled safety and in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum 10 years of corporate accounting management experience , with at least 5 years in a healthcare or non-profit environment preferred.
  • Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and in an independent manner.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the processes and practices regarding budgets, grant proposals, and program management.
  • Exceptional knowledge of the processes, practices, and procedures relating to the accounting function.
  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, time-management skills, and strong motivation to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Exceptional skills in computer applications and software, especially MS Excel.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in mathematics.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques, to include performance and employee development
  • Successful tract record of leading and driving positive change through others.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

147,422.00 - 225,622.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
