DESCRIPTION

The Dept of Medicine Residency Training Program is the largest Residency Training program at UCSD and comprises of 120 residents (4 tracks: preliminary, research, categorical, and med/peds). Under supervision of the Program Administrator, incumbent will organize, direct, coordinate and administer resources and systems to assure control of resident activities for the UCSD Medicine Residency Training Program. Incumbent is responsible for managing the Electronic Residency Application Service. Duties to include but not limited to: coordination of all aspects of the resident evaluation processes using the New Innovations system, liaison with Chief Residents to coordinate master rotation schedule and changes throughout the academic year. Responsible for coordination of resident personnel needs and compilation of data as requested. Works on educational and operational accounting. Organizes and prepares materials for courses, social events, meetings and orientations for the program. Tracks housestaff procedure logs and graduation requirements to ensure Board Certification eligibility. Prepares documents for GME and ACGME site visits. Performs high level coordination of the Physician Scientist Training Pathway. Provides support to Program Director including maintaining appointment calendar, prepare manuscripts, answer and route telephone calls and open and distribute mail. Serves as liaison between Program Director, resident physicians, Division contacts, Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and GME support staff, and Medical Staff. Perform other related duties as required.

Applies knowledge about curriculum, requirements and educational activities to coordinate professional health education programs. Coordinates and maintains program operations, which may include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of health professions education program requirements. Thorough knowledge of health professions education industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.

  • Thorough knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program. Skills include statistical analysis of data across databases and systems.

  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills; includes active listening and critical thinking.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Strong problem solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.

  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.

  • Thorough knowledge of educational software and platforms. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user experience.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.18 - $57.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
