Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system. As a member of the float team, you can fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee's leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments.

Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Sterile Processing Tech where you will provide patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following: responsible for the cleaning, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical instruments, equipment, and supplies used for patient care. Cleans and disinfects equipment requiring decontamination or sterilization according to designated principles of asepsis. Responsible for testing and recording of sterilizer equipment performance to ensure operating within sterility standards. Maintains established control systems for supplies and equipment processed.

The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:

SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration.

Seeking full-time staff with varied shifts and varied FTEs.

Required Qualifications:

• Nine (9) months of recent experience in sterile processing in surgical setting.
• Completion of college training program for SPD or online study program or completion of formal on the job training program.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or CBSPD Certification.
• Knowledge of sterilizers, surgical instrumentation, and medical equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Travel Requirements: Work between the five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.
