Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $82,200-$235,400. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is currently recruiting outstanding faculty for tenured positions in the Division of Regenerative Medicine.

The Division of Regenerative Medicine, in cooperation with the UC San Diego Health System, the School of Medicine, and the Sanford Stem Cell Institute, seeks faculty applicants to join a highly interdisciplinary effort dedicated to advancing stem cell research from bench to bedside.

The successful candidates will conduct strongly interdisciplinary research with clinical applicability in stem cell science and medicine. The successful candidates will participate in university service and be responsible for providing leadership in teaching, research, and/or service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

The appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD, or equivalent, PhD, or MD/PhD in health-related fields.

Candidates with an MD or equivalent must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.

Candidates must have a track record of publications in internationally recognized journals and have established, independent, and vigorous extramurally-funded research programs in regenerative medicine, biomedical or biotechnologies, development of new drugs, cellular therapeutics, and/or in clinical translation of stem cells. Candidates must also have innovative approaches and expertise in more than one discipline.
