Respiratory Therapist (RCP) - System Wide Resource Services

Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system. As a member of the float team, you can fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee's leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments.
Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Respiratory Therapist where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following: In collaboration with other caregivers, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates actions for respiratory care. Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care. Performs other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit. Responds to critical situations. Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties. Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance and performance improvement activities.
The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:
- SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration
- SYSTEM WIDE SEASONAL TEAM - Full Time, Limited tenure Scripps employee who supports assignments of 13 or 26 weeks.
- Completion bonus available at the end of the initial assignment

Required Qualifications:
- One (1) or more years RCP acute care experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Enjoys working with the public.
- Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- Technically competent in the department skills inventory.
- Computer literate.
- California RCP License
- Current California RCP license required
- Current American Heart Association BLS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care.
- NRP Certification
- NICU Experience
Travel Requirements:
- Work between the five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.
